Rod Brown

Executive Producer

About Rod Brown

Rod is delighted to be working very closely with Sir David Jason and executive producer John Brocklehurst to produce ‘An Evening with Sir David Jason’, the show which we’re all thrilled to see is entertaining sell out audiences across the United Kingdom and Ireland.

Rod is a Television BAFTA award winning producer. His entertainment career started in theatre and light entertainment shows, working with leading comedians in the early 1990’s. Rod moved on to sports and then drama production when he joined Hewland International in 1996. Rod went on to produce a number of shows for Hewland International including the multi-award-winning Sky One television drama series ‘Dream Team’, where he produced more than 200 episodes over 6 seasons.

Rod joined producer John Brocklehurst and partners at The Mob Film Company in 2003 where they co-developed and produced the multi-BAFTA award-winning TV miniseries ‘Hogfather’ (Sky TV 2006) starring Sir David. Hogfather was the first-ever live adaptation of best-selling author Sir Terry Pratchett’s Discworld series. Rod and John went on to produce two further BAFTA award-winning Discworld TV miniseries, ‘The Colour of Magic’ (Sky TV 2008) again starring Sir David, and ‘Going Postal’ (Sky TV 2010). Rod and John have combined to produce a number of critically acclaimed sports documentaries together, and also another hit entertainment television show starring Sir David titled ‘The Show Must Go On’ for broadcaster Channel 5, which drew on Sir David’s experience in amateur dramatics.

Rod stepped away from the Mob in 2012 to work with the directors of Narrativia, the company that controls the Audio Visual rights to Sir Terry Pratchett’s novels, which resulted in a number of projects moving into production, where Rod developed and executive produced titles including ‘Good Omens’(Amazon Prime) and The Amazing Maurice (Sky Cinema 2022).

Rod was thrilled to rejoin forces with John Brocklehurst in 2019 to create BrockBrown Films, and they have now combined their joint production experience to produce  ‘An Evening with Sir David Jason’, working hand in hand with a brilliant technical and support team and the wonderful Sir David.
